In compliance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015, Eklavya College has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to uphold a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
Objective of the ICC
The ICC is committed to preventing and addressing any form of sexual harassment within the institution. It aims to ensure gender equality and create a secure, discrimination-free campus that promotes personal dignity and academic freedom.
Functions of the ICC
- To receive and address complaints of sexual harassment as defined by law.
- To provide a fair and confidential inquiry and redressal mechanism.
- To organize awareness programmes, sensitization workshops, and capacity-building initiatives on gender equity and sexual harassment.
- To recommend appropriate actions in cases of misconduct after thorough inquiry.
The Committee comprises faculty members, administrative staff, and an external member with experience in dealing with gender issues. Student representatives are also included to ensure fair representation and accessibility. The ICC functions independently and in accordance with legal guidelines.
All complaints and proceedings of the ICC are treated with the highest degree of confidentiality. The institution strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against complainants, witnesses, or committee members.
Any student, faculty member, or staff member who experiences or witnesses sexual harassment may approach the ICC via written complaint or email. The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential, and prompt action will be taken as per the law.
